Rooted By Choice

Jeremiah is sometimes called the “weeping prophet” because his assignment was to the nation of Judah. This nation of God’s chosen people were in their last season of rebellion before they were conquered and taken into exile. In Chapter 17, he speaks of how ingrained and permanent the sin of Judah is (v1). Their evil ways and sinful practices were as well established and as fondly remembered as their own children (v2). As a result, judgement was coming.
