We live in a world that has seemingly normalized and legitimized being offended. At some point, we all feel the pressure to say one thing or not say another, and if we, somehow, fail to comply then an offended party is soon to follow. Do you know what I mean? Sure, real sins lead to real offense, and we deal with that specifically and directly as the Bible teaches. However, what about our perceptions, expectations, and even interpretations of what is going on around us? Jesus is not only the payment for our sins, but He is also the pattern for our life. And as we can see from Scripture He was not easily offended, nor did He carry offenses. Therefore, to be free from an offended heart means that we choose a Christlike response in the way we act, interact, and react to people and situations of life. Speaker: Pastor Ben Dixon Scripture: Luke 17:1-6, Proverbs 18:19, 1 Peter 4:8, 11 Timothy 3:16-17, Psalm 119:165, Luke 6:27-28, Proverbs 19:11

Most of us have heard the saying “hurt people will hurt people.” We know this statement is true because we all have experienced the reality of it. When emotional wounds are caused, they have a way of repeating themselves through those who have been hurt if the wound is not healed. Sometimes we are the source of that wound which caused great pain in another person either directly or indirectly. Is there something you have done to another person that you wish you could take back? Have you left anything unresolved in a past relationship where you caused pain? In this message, Pastor Ben looks at a very well-known story in the Old Testament to learn how God called someone to break the cycle of pain through the power of reconciliation. Speaker: Pastor Ben Dixon Scripture: Genesis 25:27-34, Genesis 27:30-35, Genesis 27:41 - 28:5, Genesis 31:3, Genesis 32:24-32, Matthew 5:23-24 Series: Freedom In ChristThis is the 7th session in the series, "Freedom in Christ". There is no doubt that every human heart longs to know and fulfill their purpose. Some people may not know what that purpose is, but many who follow Jesus have a general sense of what He wants them to do. What if a primary reason that so many people don’t engage their God given purpose for their future is because they are still weighted down by the wounds of their past? Jesus wants to set us free from our past and heal our wounds so that we are unhindered in our love for Him and service toward others. In this message, Pastor Ben discusses how to deal with our past wounds as we receive the healing that only Jesus provides. When Jesus began His ministry, He declared that He would set the oppressed free. Another word for oppressed could be “wounded.” Jesus is the Great Physician and He wants to perform surgery on our soul in the area of our wounding so that we are no longer held back from becoming everything He desires. If we are honest, most of us have wounds that come from our earthly fathers which hinders our relationship with our Heavenly Father. In this message, Pastor Ben dives deeper into the issue of father wounds and focuses on the healing that God provides through our relationship with Him.

There is no doubt that as followers of Jesus we are facing an increasingly more difficult climate. There is a constant pressure to either become more worldly by laying down our Christian values or more withdrawn and throwing away our mission mandate. In this message, Pastor Iziah teaches about the life of Daniel and his friends and how they show us that being faithful in an opposing culture is genuinely possible and spiritually rewarding. Our freedom in Christ is given, but something that is often overlooked or even misunderstood is that it must be guarded. We have enemies that will oppose our freedom on a daily basis and our greatest enemy is that sinful, selfish, hardened, unrepentant, and un-surrendered version of ourselves. Through Galatians 5:13-26 we are going to allow the Apostle Paul to pastor us in how it is that we stay free from the power of the flesh.

Jesus wants us to be completely free from our sin, our past and the power of demonic influence. But the real question we need to ask is, “Do WE want to be free?” How do we know if what WE want matches what HE wants? In our passage today, we will discover some practical insight about the freedom in Christ through an interaction that Jesus has with a crippled man in Jerusalem.
