The gospel is the greatest message the world has ever heard, yet most Christians struggle to clearly explain it or confidently share it with others. If we are going to reach people with the gospel, we first need to understand it ourselves. In this message, we'll answer two foundational questions: What is the Gospel and how do we share the Gospel? As we walk through the story of Scripture and a simple, practical framework for sharing our faith, you'll be equipped to confidently communicate the hope of Jesus Christ with the people God has placed in your life.

Prayer is a foundational practice in the life of the christian. James chapter five tells us that "the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective"(NIV). Prayer is not just something I do hoping God will hear me. Prayer is done intentionally and has great purpose when we align ourselves with God's will. In prayer, we reach up to God, press in for each other, and ask that God would bring those who are far from Him back to Himself. As we follow Christ, let's continue to make prayer a priority in our lives!

Jonah chapter 4 is one of the most surprising chapters in the Bible. After witnessing one of the greatest revivals recorded in Scripture, Jonah wasn't filled with joy—he was filled with anger. Instead of celebrating God's mercy, he questioned it. Instead of rejoicing over people being saved, he became frustrated and angry with God. This chapter reveals a very sobering truth: sometimes the greatest obstacles to reaching people aren't around us, they're within us. Today, we are going to look at four heart postures that can quietly keep us from sharing God's heart for the people He longs to save.

Fatherhood is one of the greatest callings and responsibilities God has entrusted to men. In a culture that often minimizes the importance of fathers, Scripture reminds us that fathers have a unique influence on the spiritual, emotional, and relational health of their families. Whether you are a father, grandfather, future father, or someone impacted by a father’s influence, this message will challenge us to consider God’s design for fatherhood and the kind of men our families, churches, and communities desperately need. The stakes are high, the calling is significant, and God has not left us guessing about what faithful fatherhood looks like.

Most people don't think of hospitality as evangelism. When we hear the words "reach out," we often picture a missionary overseas, a street preacher, or someone boldly sharing the gospel with a stranger. But some of the most powerful gospel conversations don't happen from a stage or behind a pulpit—they happen around a dinner table, on a front porch, over a cup of coffee, or in the ordinary moments of everyday life. In a world where loneliness is increasing, relationships are becoming more superficial, and many people feel unseen and disconnected, opening our lives to others can become a powerful expression of the love of Christ. Today we're going to discover that biblical hospitality is much more than entertaining guests. It is a kingdom-minded way of reaching people, serving people, and pointing people to Jesus.

Jesus never intended His followers to simply receive His grace—He intended for them to carry it to others. In Matthew chapter 10, Jesus sent His disciples out to reach people with the good news of the Kingdom and to minister in His name. While the original disciples were sent in that moment, every follower of Jesus has been given the same mission today. We have been entrusted with the Gospel and called to participate in God's work of reaching people. This message will challenge us to embrace that calling and faithfully live as those who have been sent by Christ.

Throughout the New Testament, we see a church that is empowered by the Holy Spirit and strengthened through the ministry of spiritual gifts. These gifts were never intended to be confusing, divisive, or pushed to the margins of church life. They were given by God to build up His people, reveal Jesus, and help the church fulfill its mission in the world. This weekend, we’ll explore what it means to be a spiritually-gifted church, the vision God has for His people, and why this matters for Northwest Church.

In the beginning of the book of Acts, we see that the Holy Spirit was poured out and the Church began to move in the power and leading of the Holy Spirit. In Acts chapter 4, Peter and John were dragged into the temple courts to be questioned after praying for and seeing a paralyzed man healed in the name of Jesus. In the face of this persecution, the church turns to prayer. Instead of being filled with fear, they asked God to give them confidence and boldness to continue to proclaim the Gospel. As followers of Jesus today, we are still called to reach out to others with boldness. Let’s pray that God would embolden us to be his witnesses!

Jesus did far more than teach His disciples information—He intentionally shaped their hearts. Throughout the Gospels, we observe how Jesus constantly formed the way they saw people, responded to brokenness, understood the mission of God, and engaged the world around them. In Matthew chapter 9, Jesus used a powerful moment with the crowds to shape His disciples into people who would eventually carry His heart and continue His ministry. In this message, we will look at how Jesus still shapes His followers today to see what He saw, feel what He felt, know what He knew, and pray what He prayed!

Acts chapter 10 records a powerful turning point in the spread of the Gospel as God opens the door for the Gentiles to hear and receive the message of Jesus Christ. Although Peter already knew the mission of Jesus, there were still perspectives and assumptions in him that needed to change. Yet it was Peter’s posture before God in prayer that positioned him to hear from God and ultimately see people differently. This message explores how our posture before God shapes our perspective of people and ultimately influences the way we reach out to the world around us.
