As believers we understand that the moment we give our lives to Jesus, He is with us. But many of us don’t fully understand that Jesus is not just WITH us, He now dwells IN us. Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3 beautifully describes what we should pray for and believe to happen in our hearts so that through Jesus’ abiding presence in us, we can be filled to all the fullness of God – a total transformation of our inner self into the image of God and an outpouring of all God has for us. In this passage there are four prayers that Paul prayed for the church that are still relevant today.

We live in a world that tells us we need more, and we need to be more. So what does true spiritual contentment look like for people who love God and trust Him no matter what? In Paul’s final words to the church in Philippi he talks about how God taught Him to be content in every circumstance which remains as a powerful example for us today!

The Apostle Paul has given several practical steps for dealing with anxiety. He taught them to identify anxious thoughts, pray specifically and receive God’s peace which has the power to guard from future inner turmoil. In our passage today, Paul furthers the conversation by giving some final pieces of advice for how to exchange our anxiety for His peace. We must take control of our thoughts and put into practice what we have learned from Scripture and godly people. These two principles of wisdom have the power to keep us in the peace of God as life continues to unfold. This weekend, Christians commemorate the historical event when God poured out His Holy Spirit upon the first 120 believers as referenced in Acts chapter 2. This was the catalyst that truly changed the world as men and women, filled with God’s Spirit, were sent out as witnesses of Jesus Christ. Today, as we gather together, we are pausing to discuss and pray for the baptism with the Holy Spirit in our generation. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to lead and launch us into all that God has called us to do!Speaker: Pastor Ben DixonScripture: John 3:3, John 20:21-22, Matthew 3:11, Acts 1:4-8Series: Stand Alone Messages

God doesn’t change. His words are true. He is completely and totally reliable in every way. While everything else around us changes, there is Someone who does not change. He does not lie, and we can build our lives on His Word, His plan, and His promises. It’s a sure deal! The writer of Hebrews said it this way, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever,” (Heb 13:8).
This means that GOD is faithful! We can trust Him. What He says is true. What He said He will do, we know He will do. Moses spoke of how God was faithful to bring Israel through to the Promised Land (Dt 7). David said that the faithfulness of God “reaches to the skies,” (Ps 36:5). The prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah both spoke of how faithful God was to them and the nation of Israel. And in our text today, we’ll read several times where the Apostle Paul spoke of how faithful God was in it all and through it all.

Several modern statistics reveal that this could be the most anxious generation to ever exist. There aremany reasons for why this may be the case, but we need to know that worry and anxiety are not just amodern struggle. In fact, Jesus speaks about worry, anxiety and peace many times and so do the otherwriters of the New Testament. All of this points to a very important truth: our mental health matters.Worry and anxiety have lots of contributing factors which we need to understand, but more than that,we need to understand the promise of Scripture that God will give us His peace in exchange for ouranxiety. How do we make that exchange? Well, that is what the Apostle Paul talks about in our passagetoday!Speaker: Pastor Ben DixonScripture: Philippians 4:6-7Series: Part of Philippians: Joy From a Jail CellNorthwest Church - www.nwcfoursquare.org "On mission with Jesus to see the lost saved and disciples made."

Everyone has friends and family members who either walked away from Jesus or never fully surrendered their heart to Him even though they had opportunities to do so. This reality is heart wrenching and difficult for all of us, and I am sure that we would do anything we could to see our loved ones come back to Jesus. In our passage today, we can clearly see the heart of Christ to bring all people to Himself no matter where they come from or what they have done. As a church, we are taking a stand together to pursue our prodigals until all have returned to Christ!

In all human relationships, conflict will emerge at some point because each of us has the capacity to sin. Jesus taught that as Christians we seek to resolve conflict and pursue reconciliation. This is a testimony to who we are in Christ and to whom we allow to direct all of our thoughts and actions. In this passage, we see seven principles for what to do to resolve conflict and reconcile with others.

Life doesn’t always go as planned. In fact, there are times when everything seems to fall apart all at once. Losses, setbacks, and moments that leave us feeling defeated. This weekend, we’re looking at one of those moments in the life of David, where everything truly went wrong. But what David did next offers us a roadmap for our own moments of pain and pressure. Through his story, we’ll discover that even on our worst days, we can still find strength in God, follow His direction, and walk in generosity not because life is easy, but because God is good.

From the time we are born we are all impressionable. There are people we have looked up to whose words and ways have mattered more to us than anyone else. However, not every person in our life, even those we have cherished, is helping us to become who God has called us to be. As followers of Jesus we need to be intentional with who we look up to and listen to because the people that we follow have the greatest impact on who we become. In our passage today, the Apostle Paul gives us an encouragement, a warning and a reminder about the importance of followership in our lives.
